VA Composites was launched in January, 2017 by Victor Afable, co-founder and former president of OBAN shafts. With a passion to design and create the best shafts in the golf industry, VA released his first series of shafts, Raijin. Raijin (Rie-gene) features a design utilizing multiple composite materials. Designed using exotic 40T carbon fiber prepreg (an industrial term for fabric reinforcement that has been pre-impregnated with a resin system.) materials from Japan coupled with a design unprecedented in the golf industry.
Raijin is a very versatile shaft that fits a wide variety of players. The S and X flexes feature mid-to-high launch characteristics coupled with low spin. The L, A, and R flexes feature high launch and low-to-mid spin characteristics. These shafts feature a torque range from 2.8 to 5.6 degrees, depending on weight and flex categories. They maintain a slightly higher balance point which delivers better balance and swing weight control. VA Composites believes it is redefining the golf shaft and is taking performance to an entirely new level.
