Srixon Z585 & Z785 Irons

Srixon Z585 & Z785

On September 14, Srixon will officially launch their 2018 Z Series irons. But you can get fit for the new Z-Series by Club Champion now!

Building on the success of their previous generation, the new Z Series irons offer Tour-validated designs with a soft-forged feel. Cutting-edge technologies help enhance distance, workability and feel. The new Z Series irons are built for performance with the 585 focusing on adding distance and the 785 delivering enhanced control.

“The Z 785 and Z 585 Irons are yet another step forward for Srixon as we continue to produce some of the highest-performing irons designed for better players,” said Jeff Brunski, Srixon Vice President of Research and Development.

Both irons offer an updated Tour V.T. sole for smoother turf interaction and more consistent ball striking. The Z 585 has a wider sole, so the apex of the “V” shape is moved back farther from the leading edge. The forged construction from a soft 1020 carbon steel provides an improved feel and less vibration through impact. However, the Z 585 features a high-strength faceplate for added distance. So, it is 2-piece construction vs. the Z 785, which is 1-piece. Deeper grooves and laser face-milling provide added spin and greater control.

The Z 785 features a Tour cavity, providing additional mass behind the impact location, delivering increased shot-shaping ability and versatility. The Z 585 features an added speed groove, which allows for more face-flex, enhancing ball speed and generating additional distance.

“The forged carbon steel Z 785 muscle-backs are the best feeling irons we’ve ever made, featuring best-in-class turf interaction from the Tour V.T. Sole, and enhanced control from deeper, sharper grooves,” adds Brunski.

The Z 585 irons are similarly forged, featuring a high-strength steel face to produce extra ball speed. The added speed groove delivers an even more consistent distance control. The long irons feature wider soles for extra forgiveness. A unique combination of feel, control, and distance from the two lines can be seamlessly blended together into a mixed set.

Tour pros are already raving about the Z 785. “I really like how they go through the turf. They are so smooth through impact,” says Keegan Bradley, winner of this past week’s FedEx Cup event. Graham McDowell adds, “It’s got that soft, buttery feel off the face.”
