Bob Bettinardi has taken his wedge line to a higher level of performance with a total redesign in a family of all-new wedges. The HLX 3.0 wedge aims to provide players a softer feel at impact, with a focus on greater versatility, control and increased forgiveness for every variety of wedge shot — from approach to greenside lies. Forged and crafted from soft carbon steel, it’s a change from Robert’s previous H2 wedge line. Utilizing a patented high helix cut machining process, Bettinardi is able to engineer and craft his softest forged wedge face with precisionmilling techniques, removing material to generate just the right groove depth and spacing to push USGA limits.
Bob’s preferred C-Grind was reengineered to promote a higher toe and heel to deliver added relief, clean contact and produce a most aggressive spin. A face that removes 20% more surface metal allows the ball to move past the center of gravity and deliver more consistent distance control.
The RJ-Grind wedge is engineered for golfers seeking increased forgiveness on tight lies and much-needed bounce on square face shots. It’s an ideal wedge for players who are looking for a higher center of gravity and maximum spin when added control around the greens is vital. The RJ-Grind was added as a high-bounce option on 56°, 58° and 60° lofts for increased flexibility around the greens and is best for players with a steeper angle of attack.
HLX 3.0 is offered in a clean, traditional chrome finish and a new patented black smoke finish for players who prefers a non-traditional appearance and more of a performance look at address. Each finish was tested to provide greater optics and glare-reducing qualities in any playing conditions. All wedges feature Bettinardi’s patented honeycomb milling on the back flange.
