Designed to introduce mid-to-high handicappers to the Miura brand, the forged club face and cast body of the PI-401 combines the latest performance enhancing technology with six decades of club-making craftsmanship to produce maximum distance and exceptional forgiveness.
“We have created an exceptional iron that goes higher, straighter, and further than any club we’ve ever produced, all while maintaining our family’s standards for design and performance,” Shinei Miura, President of Miura said. “Using two different materials, we were able to manipulate weight distribution in the PI-401 and introduce a club that is worthy of bearing the Miura name.”
Players will be quick to notice the thickness of the clubface and minimal offset that frames the ball, designed to inspire confidence and increase control while at address. Forged out of premium S35C soft carbon steel, the face of the PI-401 at 3.6mm delivers increased ball speed with higher trajectory. With optimal face thickness and larger sweet spot, the PI-401 is designed to sound as good as it looks.
Optimizing turf interaction was key in the development of the PI-401’s sole design. The wider sole features four separate angles highlighted by the leading-edge grind. This specific grind ensures less resistance through the turf, which in turn delivers a desired trajectory. The PI-401’s unique sole design allows for high performance and shot making from a variety of lies and conditions.
